So what is LJ Performance?
I spent my entire career at the highest levels of sport — Olympic programs, private-sector work with elite athletes, MLB and MLS clubs — building the performance systems those organizations trained under. LJ Performance brings that same standard to the next generation, instead of keeping it locked inside professional locker rooms.

The LJP Pro Academy is modeled after pro MLS organizations. It isn’t a skills clinic — it’s a complete system: applied performance training, technical soccer work, recovery, rehab, and professional testing, built around one athlete’s development. This is the standard.
The Performance Profile
Every athlete is scored across twelve qualities — speed, strength, power, agility, scanning, ball mastery, composure, and more — and re-scored every testing block/cycle, so you can see exactly where your athlete stands and where the work is going next. It’s not just the physical or technical side either — soccer-specific technical skill, growth and maturation tracking, and injury history all live in the same profile, so nothing about your athlete’s development gets looked at in isolation. This is the exact same development framework used at the professional level, not a simplified version built for a youth program. And I have made sure of it.

Soccer Profile. The technical side gets the same treatment — ball mastery, decision-making, weak foot, scanning — scored and tracked cycle over cycle, right alongside the physical numbers.

Growth & Maturation Profile. As your athlete grows, we track it — height, growth rate, and maturation timing — so training adjusts to where their body actually is, not just their age or grade. Growth spurts are also when injury risk tends to climb. Bones lengthen faster than the muscle and tendon around them can keep up, which is when overuse issues most often show up. We watch for that pattern specifically, so training load gets adjusted during those windows instead of after something already happened.

Injury Profile. Any injury or clinical history is logged in the same place, so every coach working with your athlete sees the full picture before building a session — not just their most recent test.

Progress you can actually see
Every profile above — Performance, Soccer, Growth, Injury, etc. — updates the same way: block over block, not once and done. That’s the difference between a test and a system. A test tells you where your athlete is today. A system tells you where they’re headed.
Sprint velocity, change-of-direction time, jump height, force production, technical scores, the growth curve, injury history — all of it lives in one place, in plain language, with the coaching context behind every number: what changed, why, and what we’re doing about it next.
Guided work for off days
Two sessions a week moves the needle. It's not enough on its own, and we've always known it. Pros train five to six days a week, plus games — but that volume works because it's periodized and planned, not random. More isn't automatically better; it's better when it's planned smartly. That's the point: development compounds with frequency, and the more consistently an athlete touches the work, the faster it sticks.
The easy answer is more in-person days. But we didn't think that was the right one. We know life happens — driving across town five days a week isn't realistic, and paying for that many in-person sessions isn't either. Instead, we built the app: guided strength, technical, and injury-prevention sessions, programmed to your athlete's current block, with videos we shot in-house for every movement — included in your membership, at no extra cost.
The result: your athlete trains four to five days a week for the price of two.

What’s included and does it break the bank to train at this level?
Training is priced by how often your athlete comes in — pick the commitment that fits:
2×/week — $40/hour ($640/month)
1×/week — $50/hour, for a lighter commitment ($400/month)
Drop-in — $75 for 1 hour or $140 for 2 hours, no commitment

Every training day is a structured 2-hour integrated block: an hour of applied performance training, an hour of technical soccer development. And in addition to that hourly rate — the same rate most programs charge for technical or speed training alone — your athlete also gets:
An Individual Performance Profile and ongoing progress reports, in a private web portal
End-Stage-Rehab/Return-to-play, currently included at no extra cost
Training adjusted through growth spurts to support healthy development
App access for at-home strength, mobility, and injury-prevention work on off days
Nutrition education and 15% off Thorne supplements (NSF Certified for Sport)
Professional testing technology tracking speed, power, movement and progress — the same tech pro organizations use
Placement and progression by development level, not age bracket
A complete development plan built around your child
Train in a professional-system environment
Built to complement club training, not replace it

Most programs at this level charge separately for testing, recovery, app access, and technical coaching — if they offer them at all. Here, it’s the same training rate you’d pay anywhere, and everything else is already built in. You end up with the complete system for the same price other places charge for training alone.
Not ready for the full Academy?
The Pro Academy is the complete system — every piece working together. But it isn’t the only way in. Each of these runs on the same methodology and standard, focused on one part:
Speed Development — acceleration, top speed, and change-of-direction, tested and progressed
Technical Training — soccer-specific ball work and decision-making in a small group
Remote Coaching — programming and the LJP app for athletes training mostly on their own or out of area
Private Training — one-on-one, fully individualized
Start where it fits your athlete now. The full Academy is there when you’re ready for it — everything else builds toward it.
Winter is the one window each year where the work gets to happen without competing against club season. If your athlete is going to make a jump, this is when it happens. Our next cycle begins October 5th.
